Blue Dolphin Holiday Park sits on a high cliff edge, giving brilliant views out over the sea below at Gristhorpe Bay and is next to the golden beach at Filey. It's close to Scarborough town with more sandy beaches, and close to the gothic Whitby. The park terrain is a mix of flat and sloping areas and is wheelchair friendly.
Facilities on site include two pools, both heated, one indoor with a a multi- lane waterslide and one outdoor for the warmer weather. Other facilities include: the freshwater fishing lake (sadly, not currently wheelchair accessible) Batfast, crazy golf, laser combat, archery and an indoor SportsDome with a climbing wall and roller disco, so there's something to do whatever the weather! Children can be kept busy with the free kids’ club and activities with the FunStars every day.
For family evening entertainment, visit the Showbar, with daily stage shows and regular guest performers.
Eating options on site include: Papa John’s Pizza, Burger King, The Brigghouse Restaurant, and the traditional fish and chips shop, plus the mini mart for everyday essentials.
Our caravan on Hawthorne Drive sleeps up to six people. It has two twin bedrooms, and there are ceiling pulleys in the main bedroom. The sofa in the lounge can convert into a double bed. With it's own parking space, ramp, wheelchair accessible kitchen and wet room with pull down shower seat and grab bars, it is ideal for wheelchair users or guests with mobility issues.
Enjoy cliff top walks from the park or visit Scarborough castle, a medieval site with sea views, or the local the Sea Life Sanctuary. Flamingo Land theme park, with high speed rides and exotic animals. For something a little quieter, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway offers a classic steam train that runs between Pickering and Whitby,

Access: There is disabled access to reception and the main complex, plus ramp access to the dance floor in our entertainment venue.
How long would it take you to walk from the furthest point in the park to facilities? A leisurely 10-15-minute walk.
Parking There are Blue Badge spaces in the main complex and we have parking space next to our caravan.
Swimming pool A pool hoist is available (weight restriction 400lbs/181kg). Steps (shallow end) provide gradual access, into the pool. This is not suitable for any guests with disability who cannot use steps and support their own body weight.
Changing area A disabled changing room is available with wet room shower facilities.
Access to sea/beach There's no direct beach access from the park for wheelchair users. The closest accessible sandy beach is two miles away.
The caravan was totally disabled friendly, spacious and a relief not to have to worry about basic life tasks.
