Combining beach adventures with nature treasures.

Hoburne Devon Bay - Grade 4 (very good), David Bellamy conservation award

The Park enjoys panoramic views over Torbay and the coastline, being set on the English Riveria. The beach is a short drive away at Goodrington Sands, or if you prefer a coastal walk, there is mile long pathway to the beach. All the attractions at Paignton are a short drive in one direction and the spectacular countryside of Dartmoor in the other. Please note this site is hilly.

There are extensive facilities for all the family including a wheelchair accessible indoor swimming pool complex with flume, cascade and spa pool with sauna and steam rooms and a heated outdoor pool that is open from mid-May to mid-September. Other facilities include adventure golf, a large soft play area, multi - use games area, amusement arcade, pool table and nature trails. An onsite launderette and convenience store are there to make your stay easier.

There’s plenty to do for everyone with a full entertainment schedule in The Pier House, the recently refurbished entertainment venue. It offers both entertainment and a brand new food menu in it's eateries. The design echoes the location of a family-friendly seaside resort, with stunning views out to Goodrington Sands. You'll have access to the licensed club with satellite TV and a family lounge with live entertainment during the whole season.

Our caravan here is not adapted but sits on a pitch with just one step on to the spacious  veranda, making it suitable for guests with some mobility issues. It sleeps six comfortably in a bright and airy space with a large master bedroom with king size bed, and  ensuite cloakroom, the second bedroom has twin beds and there is a double pull out bed in the lounge. The caravan is close to the park facilities and has a side sea view.

There’s plenty to keep everyone entertained on the park but if you want to go out you won't be short of things to do. The Dartmouth Steam Railway wends its way along the coastline to Kingswear, perfect to enjoy the scenery. Dartmoor has some of the most spectacular landscape in the south west, great for a bracing walk. If you are lucky, you might even see a wild Dartmoor pony. Paignton Zoo will appeal to all the family  with over 2,000 animals and 80 acres to explore. Smaller guests will love a hands-on day of fun at Pennywell Farm. With farmyard animals, rides and activities you'll be spoilt for choice. Babbacombe Model Village with award winning gardens and Torquay's Dinosaur World provide even more family entertainment, whatever the weather.

Is the park wheelchair friendly? Hoburne Devon Bay strives to make its grounds and facilities as accessible to as wide a group of people as possible within the natural restrictions of its hilly location.

Reception In the car park opposite the reception are two dedicated disable parking bays.

Access There is a slightly inclined access to Reception and the main upper level of the Clubhouse from the front entrance which consists of block paving with a drop kerb. The entertainment complex and indoor pool both have unisex disabled toilets. The lower level of the entertainment complex and indoor pool facilities are accessed by an outside sloped walk way. All of the entertainment and licensed areas, the leisure facilities and the shop have level access. The indoor swimming pool has a beach style entry to the water. The indoor swimming pool has a large changing cubicle available, a shower which has suitable access for wheelchairs and on request we have available an Aquatec Ocean wheelchair to assist you in and out of the water.

The caravan was excellent, cosy and comfortable and the views were outstanding. We were able to relax as a family, not having to worry about anything. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. We will be returning.
